The label Olessya started to be conceptualised back in 2014. I was a fresh graduate, pouring pints for a living, and convincing everyone that my boredom was in fact enthusiasm. I decided to relocate city, and take up the opportunity to be apart of a in-house design team. It was here that I was given the platform to grow my ideas and explore my target market. Over the next 3 years stock was made available over 5 different boutiques, including both the South and North Island. Contractors assisted me to help manage the production flow, following specification sheets and with a prototype to reference. I would meet with wholesalers regularly whom would help source materials I wanted, or align me with suitable equivalents. I wanted my collections to nurture NZ made, but reflect a high quality aesthetic through sustainable and natural fibres such as wools, cottons and silk. The garment runs were kept to a select number per style. This meant that the customer was purchasing a exclusive or limited product.
Elegant and classic, yet playful and sassy.
